You can get the timetable of the library bus from the main library or from the bus.

Everyone is entitled to use the services of our library. To get a library card you have to show an identity card. Those under 15 years of age need a parent's or guardian's written approval. The library card is personal. It must be shown every time you borrow material. By signing your library card you agree to follow the rules of the library. The library must be notified of all changes in name of address. To replace a lost library card we charge 4 EUR for adults and 2 EUR for children.

The borrower is responsible for all material borrowed with his/her card. The library must be immediately informed of a lost card. If you do not return the borrowed material or pay fines for overdue material, you loose your right to use the library. After the material is returned and fines paid your right to use the library may be restored. You can return your loans to the main library, the library bus or, when the library is closed, through the opening on the left-hand side of the door.

The loan period is basically 4 weeks, except for videotapes, DVD discs and CD-ROM discs. If you fail to return the borrowed material in time you have to pay overdue fines.

If we have to remind you of overdue material the fines are:
1,50 EUR / 1. notice
2 EUR / 2. notice
3 EUR / 3. notice

If the requested book is on loan you can make a reservation by filling in the reservation form. The reservation fee is 1 e / loan. We will inform you when the reserved book has been returned. Material which is not included in our collections can be received as interlibrary loan. The fee is 1,50 EUR + a fee set by the sending library. Interlibrary loans from Tampere City Library cost 1,50 EUR / loan.

If you loose or damage material belonging to the library you have to bring a new copy of the borrowed material of pay for the damage or loss. These fees cannot be returned. Because of the copyright law videotapes cannot be replaced be bringing a new tape. The library is not responsible for possible damages of the VCR caused by library's video cassettes.
