HIKING
The Pirkan Taival hiking route to Kuru and Virrat starts off at the Haapasaari Holiday Village in Ruovesi. After some seven kilometres of village roads, the route enters the Helvetinjärvi National Park. The branch to the Ruovesi church is called Tuomaan Taival. In the terrain, the route is marked with red signs. Footpaths and service points are marked in the map of the National Park.
Helvetinjärvi National Park has 40 kilometres of marked-out
footpaths equipped with cooking huts and tenting grounds. Two cabins (in Haukanhieta and
Haukkajoki) are available by appointment. A daytime cabin is available at Helvetinkolu.
